My first recollection of live theater was a field trip in elementary school to Los Angeles to see Fiddler on the Roof. The next musical I remember was My Fair Lady at the Starlight Theater in Balboa Park. The unique thing about this amphitheater is it is right under the final approach to Lindbergh Field. When a jet in coming in to land, which is very often, the music stops and the actors freeze until the jet passes overhead, then resume the play. Its quite an interesting wat to see a musical! For a more comprehensive guide to the theater scene in the area, check out SanDiego Theater Scene.
