2008 6rd Annual Del Mar National Horse Show has closed - stay tuned for next year's showFor more than 60 years the Del Mar National Horse Show has been one of the most respected, distinguished and popular equestrian events in Southern California. Consisting of three disciplines — Western, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper — the Del Mar National Horse Show is a delight for horsemen, as well as a great spectator event. The 2007 show will run April 19 through May 6.Many years ago, the Horse Show ran concurrently with the Fair and during the summer, I worked at the stable gate for the combined events. What a great job for a young college student! All those horses and their young female riders... but that's for another time. 2007 dates for these events are:"That's Entertainment! Night of the Horse, presented by Mary's Tack and Feed, Celebrates Broadway and the Silver Screen," April 21; "Evening of Musical Freestyles," April 28; and "$100,000 HBO Grand Prix of Del Mar, an AGA event," May 5.
