The Secret - How I turned a hobby into a successful online business with Site Build It

The book and video "The Secret" has become wildly popular, based on the concept that what you truly wish for will come to pass. That's a pretty powerful message. However, most of us know that simply wishing for something does not necessarily make it happen.

It takes a wish AND action to make it happen. That's what I did with the Del Mar Guide. I had left yet another unfulfilling job, and heard about Ken Evoy's Site Build It process.

I looked into it, studied the online literature, and talked to some of the references about how they were doing. I decided to try it, but was still a bit skeptical. I had never built a website before.

The thing I liked about their process was it is not a get rich quick scheme. Rather, it encouraged careful preparation and slowly building your business, using all the tools and resources they provide.

The one thing I overlooked that has helped my site become successful was the forum of thousands of users. This amazing community of people like me - from around the globe - share ideas, frustrations, successes and tips on what works and what doesn't.
